Dr. Green receives Powe Award

Dr. Green has been awarded the Ralph E. Powe Junior Faculty Enhancement Award by the Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU), for his proposal titled “Coherent Elastic Neutrino-Nuclear Scattering at the SNS.”  This award will support a graduate student in efforts to make the first unambiguous detection of this Standard Model neutrino interaction using the world’s premier stopped-pion neutrino source at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.  Thanks to ORAU for granting the award, the College of Sciences for providing matching funds, and Ray Fornes for serving as the NCSU councilor to ORNL.  For more information on the Ralph E. Powe Award, go here.
